# MadeThisWeek > A weekly launch board for new apps and SaaS. Launches are ranked by upvotes weighted by GitHub account age, and every listing shows how many visitors MadeThisWeek actually sent to it. ## What it does - Runs one launch board per week, Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 UTC. Past boards stay online at /week/YYYY-MM-DD (the Monday). - Ranks launches by upvotes weighted by the voter’s GitHub account age (0.25 under 30 days, 0.5 under 180 days, 0.75 under a year, 1 otherwise). - Shows on every listing how many visitors MadeThisWeek sent to the product’s site, counted once per person, per product, per UTC day. - Gives every launch a permanent product page with a direct link to the product. ## What it does not do - Paying does not add votes or change rank. - It does not sell votes, reviews or rankings. - It does not store visitors’ IP addresses or browser details, only a salted one-way hash for counting. - It does not post to social networks or contact users on a maker’s behalf. ## Pricing - Free: reviewed by hand, launches in the next week with an open slot (20 per week). The link is followed once the maker’s site links back. - Premium: $24.99 once. Pick the week (this week to 11 weeks ahead), followed link, approved on payment, Premium label (10 per week). ## This week (week 45, Nov 2 to Nov 8 UTC) No launches yet this week. MadeThisWeek is a weekly launch board for new apps and SaaS products. Each week runs from Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 UTC. Launches are ranked by upvotes, and every listing shows how many visitors MadeThisWeek sent to the product’s site. ### How is MadeThisWeek different from Product Hunt? Launches compete for a whole week instead of a single day, so a launch has seven days to collect votes. Upvotes are weighted by the age of the voter’s GitHub account, which makes new throwaway accounts count for less. Every product page shows the number of visitors MadeThisWeek actually sent, so makers can see the traffic as well as the votes. ### Is launching on MadeThisWeek free? Yes. A free launch goes into the next week with an open slot after a short review. There are 20 free slots each week. Premium costs $24.99 once and lets you pick your launch week. ### What does Premium include? Premium ($24.99, one payment) lets you choose your launch week, from this week up to 11 weeks ahead, gives a followed link right away, approves the launch as soon as the payment is confirmed, and labels the listing Premium. There are 10 Premium slots each week. Premium never adds votes or changes the ranking. ### Does paying improve my rank? No. Paid and free launches are ranked by the same weighted upvotes. Ties go to the launch that sent more visitors, then to the one approved first. ### How are upvotes weighted? Voters sign in with GitHub. A vote from an account younger than 30 days counts 0.25, younger than 180 days counts 0.5, younger than a year counts 0.75, and older accounts count 1. The number shown on a listing is the plain count; the ranking uses the weighted total. ### How does MadeThisWeek count visitors sent? When someone opens a product’s site from MadeThisWeek, the visit is counted once per person, per product, per UTC day. Known bots are ignored. MadeThisWeek stores a salted one-way hash for this, not the IP address or browser details. ### Do I get a backlink? Every launch gets a permanent product page with a direct link to your site. The link is followed for Premium launches, and for free launches once your site links back to madethisweek.com, for example with the badge on your product page. Otherwise the link is marked nofollow. ### When does a free launch go live? Free launches are reviewed by hand and placed in the first week from next week onward that still has a free slot. You can follow the status in My launches. ### What can I launch? Apps, SaaS, developer tools, browser extensions and other software you made or work on. Listings must describe the product accurately. Vote trading, accounts created to vote, misleading listings and anything illegal or unsafe are removed. ### Can I get a refund for Premium? Payments are handled by Dodo Payments. If a full refund is issued, the launch stays on the board as a free launch and its link follows the free-launch rule. ## Contact jonny@jonnylab.app. Operated by JonnyLab (https://jonnylab.app).
